Executive-level doc to show how a virtualized web farm is a cost-effective and technically-sound solution. This is a related document to the Virtual Server Explained document listed below as HA/Failover would be accomplished via MSFT 2003 clustering via virtual server... both cost-effective and easily configured and administered.
Virtual Server Explained
A high-level summary of plans to virtualize an environment. For non-geeks a virtual servers has the "look and feel" of a file (a very large file) that can be moved around and run on another server. If SERVER1 has a problem it's simple to move the virtual instance ("file") to SERVER2 and turn it back on - no fuss, no muss.

A summary of the estimated savings to be realized from a virtualized infrastructure. A nice fringe benefit of virtualization is the "green savings" one can accomplish - in this case the company was to retired more than 20 servers and save thousands per year in HVAC costs.
My Response To Consulting Firm IT Assessment
At my last company they had brought in MFA, a tech consulting firm, to assess the tech function. My response included some language on the need for a DR/BCP plan which was not part of their assessment.

I am a big believer in user-friendly documentation. This is a good example of my "show and tell" layout with any doc that's meant for mass consumption: text describing the process and a picture on the righ-hand side. In this case many users were not taking advantage of their Outlook Contacts for mass-mailing holiday cards or any other hard collateral. Users following the instructions found them quite helpful.
